"our PURPOSE is to provide physical-trauma victims financial independence and dignity through authorship
"our MISSION is to help the traumatized heal from psychological and physical binds
"our VISION is that every individual knows they are worthy and valuable, regardless of their circumstances
Our Perspective
Art therapy is an opportunity to process life; understand who we are, what's happened to us, and shape how we continue living
Trauma is a deeply personal experience. As verbalizing incidents and the aftermath takes time to process, words may not help or even be available those who have been victimized.
We believe that art is a powerful tool which can bring healing and connection to anyone, and especially to those working through their personal history.
MEET THE FOUNDER
We all have a story, and a cursory glance at statistics will show that those stories are likely dotted
with abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault. In my own experience I have used art to move through thoughts and emotions, with the work as my catalyst and canvas a reflection, until in the end I am the object being refined.
My goal in founding Advocate Gallery is two-fold. First, is to connect victims of physical trauma to art therapy and mediums to encourage trauma processing. Second, is to create a platform that acknowledges the work that they are putting into healing is valuable, and reinforce the narrative that they are capable, worthy individuals deserving of respect.
So, how Does it Work?
01
We connect with each individual and listen to their story before connecting them to art as therapy
02
Transpose their expressions of design onto an offering that is then made available to the public
03
Promote their pieces and route the sales back to that individual artist, providing financial and narrative support
